Description of Vermont

Vermont (also known as the "Green Mountain State") is tiny and hidden in the northeast corner of the United States. Vermont was first seen by European eyes in 1609, when the French explorer Samuel de Champlain sailed the lake that now bears his name.

An interesting fact about Vermont is that the capital city is Montpelier, which not too many people know. The state flower is the Red Clover. The state motto is "Freedom and unity". There have also been two presidents born in Vermont, Chester Alan Arthur (21st) and Calvin Coolidge (30th).
